The locality of Kulnura has an approximate area of 190 km².

It is surrounded by the suburbs of Bucketty, Cedar Brush Creek, Central Mangrove, Mangrove Mountain, Mogo Creek, Ourimbah, St Albans, Upper Mangrove, Wrights Creek, Wyong Creek and Yarramalong.

It is within the council of Central Coast.

It is comprised of parts of the state electorates of Gosford and Wyong.

It is comprised of parts of the federal electorates of Dobell and Robertson.
