About Us

ANTaR ACT is the local branch of ANTaR – Australia’s main non-Indigenous organisation advocating for justice, rights and respect for Australia's First Peoples.

We work with local Indigenous organisations and support their voice; host lectures on current issues; run events to increase cultural understanding; and support ANTaR National's campaigns at a local level.

Our monthly bulletin includes information about our activities as well as information about political and cultural events by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You can sign up for the bulletins, or see past bulletins, on our website.

We meet monthly - generally at 6pm on the second Monday of the month - usually at King O'Malleys (City Walk, near bus interchange). All are welcome to come along and support our campaigning and other activities. Please email us for more information.

We hold a major annual lecture towards of the end of the year - the David Hunter Memorial Lecture, in memory of one of our past members. Information about these lectures is available on our website.
