About Us
Not everyone needs (or can afford) the very latest computer on the market. The Tech Shed lowers the cost of owning a personal computer, with refurbished computer packages starting as low as $165.
We accept donations of computers and other hardware - both working and not working - which might otherwise have ended up in landfill. Volunteers from the local community learn valuable and employable skills as they are trained and overseen in the repair and refurbishment of these machines.
Our range of products and services includes:
- Refurbished computers, displays and accessories
- Computer repair and maintenance
- E-waste recycling
The Tech Shed is a member of the Microsoft Registered Refurbishment Program.
Simply phone us or drop in, and let us know how we can help! There is no membership required.

Canberra City Care provides practical help for people experiencing financial hardship. We run four main services: - HandUp Food Care stocks a range of affordable food and everyday essentials, including bread, fruit and vegetables. - The Tech Shed provides affordable computers and technical support to pensioners and low-income earners. - Re-Runs Op Shop sells a range of ‘pre-loved' clothing and other goods at very low prices. - Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is the only charitable provider of free debt management in Australia. The service is operated locally by Canberra City Care, and is available to all residents of Canberra and the surrounding region.
