About Us

Welcome to Parkinson Ward, which is a great place to live and raise a family.

Having lived in the ward for 30 years, I have been able to enjoy the benefits in our local area and have also witnessed our suburbs change and mature.

As a local resident myself and your local representative, I am committed to ensuring Council delivers results for our community.

Parkinson Ward is the fastest growing ward in the City of Brisbane and is currently experiencing significant change. The suburbs here promote a great lifestyle with many parks, environmental corridors and family friendly opportunities.

New residents will quickly find that once a family settles in our local area they do not like to leave. In fact many residents have multiple generations of their family living here, including myself.

As a fast developing growth region there are many challenges ahead, particularly ensuring the road corridors are developed to reduce traffic congestion and keep pace with the population increase.

Parkinson Ward was first established in the 2007 Electoral Redistribution Process and I am pleased to have been elected to serve our community as the inaugural Councillor in 2008, and re-elected in 2012
