Mens Shed - Carina

The Men’s Shed concept is aimed squarely at men and their health issues. Not much is known about men’s health issues and why they have the problems they have.

It is time for this to change and the Men’s Shed movement is one of the most powerful tools available to help men to once again become valued members of the community.

Good health is based on many factors including, feeling good about yourself, being productive, and connecting with friends, being valued in the community, not to mention an active body and mind. A Men’s Shed provides a safe and busy environment where a man can achieve many of these factors.

Shed members update their activity preferences every six months and the most popular choices are currently woodworking, furniture restoration, woodturning and computers. It doesn’t end there because activity interests are wide and varied, for example, photography, cooking, fitness, family tree
research, toy and puzzle making are also listed as possible future activities.
