Child Protection Services

About Us

The Child Aware Counselling Service consists of Psychologists who specialise in assisting children, young people and families to overcome symptoms by using evidence based interventions and best practice.  Child Aware psychologists employ a flexible, collaborative and client-centred approach to therapy incorporating a variety of focused psychological strategies and evidence-based therapies, depending on each client's personal goals and needs.

Some of the therapies and techniques that may be integrated include: cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), trauma focused cognitive behaviour therapy (TF-CBT) acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), interpersonal therapy, solution-focused and strength-based therapies, narrative therapy, art and play therapies.
