About Us

The Brisbane Multicultural Centre (BMC) is fast becoming the heart of multicultural Brisbane, where diverse communities come together to meet, celebrate and share their cultures.  This is a space for the whole community to enjoy and we encourage new communities and cultures to join the many that already make it the centre of diversity in Brisbane.

The centre is home to Multicultural Australia and the Queensland Program of Assistance to Survivors of Torture and Trauma. On weekdays, it’s filled with newly arrived refugees and migrants coming in for support, training and social activities.

In the evenings, community groups take over, using the space for committee meetings, dance and music practice, language classes, consultation sessions and much more.

On weekends, the BMC becomes celebration central as the main community space is filled with cultural festivities. From national day observations, award ceremonies, fundraisers, elections, parties and even weddings, there is always an eclectic mix of merriment at the centre.
