Arts Theatre

Students study three theatrical disciplines – singing, dancing and acting. All tutors are qualified teachers and experienced professionals. The aim of the course is to provide students with theatrical skills, experience and to develop a confidence in their performance abilities. (Ages 8 to 16 – classes arranged in three loose age groups) Saturday mornings 9—11am.Students learn the stage skills of singing, movement and acting and apply them in a performance at the end of every semester.

BYDE is run by Brisbane Arts Theatre for young people between the age of 12 and 20. Participants learn about all aspects of theatre including acting, stage management, direction, lighting and sound design, and costume and set design. Their instructors are experienced members of the theatre industry. Each semester sees the BYDE group work towards staging a full scale production in the Brisbane Arts Theatre itself. BYDE auditions are not only for Cast members, but for Crew members as well. So we are looking for people who are not only interested in acting, but are interested in Directing, Stage Management, Set, Costume, Lighting and Sound Design.
