About Us
The Genealogical Society of Queensland was established as a not-for-profit association in 1978. .
Its mission is 'helping to discover your family history'. It specialises in family history in the Australian state of Queensland..
GSQ is run by a Management Committee elected annually by its members. Any full member of the Society is eligible for election to the Management Committee. GSQ is staffed by volunteers whose role is to provide assistance and support to members and visitors; and to undertake projects designed to add to the body of resources available to family historians in Queensland.
The Society is affiliated with organisations which represent family history societies in Queensland, in the whole of Australia and New Zealand, and the British Isles. See the links below for more information:
We operate a Library & Resource Centre at 39 Fisher Street, East Brisbane 4169.
Membership gives access to online subscription databases, CDs, microform, books, maps, journals. Volunteer library assistants are on duty each day GSQ is open to assist members and vistors with family history research. Non-members may use the library at a cost of $20 per day.
