What Do I need To Bring?

You do not need a doctors referral in order to see a physiotherapist, however, if you do have any paperwork (i.e. GP Referral or Third Party Medical Certificate) it is important that you bring it with you. If you have had any scans (i.e. X-Ray, MRI, CT or ultrasound) then you need to bring the report and copies of the scans if possible.

It is advisable to try and dress in comfortable, loose-fitting clothes for your physio appointment and we have shorts in the clinic if you are coming from work or need to get changed. If you are doing an exercise class or session remember to wear appropriate footwear as well as active wear.

Medicare:

You may be able to claim Medicare rebates if you suffer a chronic condition which is being treated by your GP under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM), previously called the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Program. With this plan you are entitled to a $52.95 rebate on the appointment fess. We do not offer bulk-billing for physiotherapy and will require full payment of the fee before processing the Easyclaim. We can action the Easyclaim in clinic and minimise out-of-pocket costs.

Medical Certificates:

If required we can complete medical certificates for time off work if the injury is related to the physiotherapists scope of practice. Your employer may ask for a referral from the GP. Medical letters are only valid for a 24 hours period therefore longer duration sick leave must be organised through your GP.

Exercise Classes:

As part of our services at Pivotal Motion we have a fully equipped gym and offer regular exercise classes. Our main classes cater for young/adolescent and older populations. Our 'Strength and Balance' class is offered for our older clients and runs each week on a Monday morning. These classes can be claimed through private health using the code 560 and cost $15. The 'Adolescent Strength and Conditioning' class aims to improve the general function and exercise technique of our younger clients. Offered on Monday afternoons, this class costs $20 and is also claimable using the 560 code. All classes are run by our exercise professionals who are experienced in individual and group exercise prescription.
