parkrun - Chermside

This is an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at Kidspace Playground and follows the Downfall Creek bikeway. Starting at Kidspace, follow the bikeway east with Downfall Creek on your right. At about 700m make a right turn and follow the bikeway over a wooden bridge crossing the creek. On the other side, make a left turn and continue to follow the bikeway east, with the creek now on your left. At about 1.5k, follow the bikeway down and under the Newman Rd bridge. Continue to follow the bikeway east for about another 1km to the turnaround point. From the turnaround, follow the same route back to the finish. Facilities Toilets (3 incl disabled) Water bubblers Children’s playground Electric BBQs Free Wi-Fi Parking at Kidspace carpark is limited (50 places incl. disabled). There is more parking on the gravel alongside Murphy Rd (100+ places) and heaps of parking at Chermside shopping centre (free for the first 3 hours). Getting There Location of startThe run starts at Kidspace Playground. Getting there by public transportSome options include: Catch a bus to Chermside shopping centre bus station and then walk north for about 1km to Kidspace. Catch a train to Zillmere Station, walk to Handford Rd and catch an inbound 330 bus to Ellison Rd stop 41, then walk south about 500m to Kidspace. Catch a train to Virginia Station and walk west along Downfall Creek bikeway for about 3.5km to Kidspace. Getting there on footFrom the northern end of Chermside shopping centre, cross Kittyhawk Drive and walk north about 200m to Kidspace. Getting there by roadFrom Gympie Rd, turn into Murphy Rd, then after about 500m turn right into Kidspace carpark, or park on the gravel alongside Murphy Rd.
