OUR HISTORY The roots of Hope Centre span more than 80 years ago when we were known as Glad Tidings Tabernacle, based in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley. Since then our reach has expanded across South East Queensland and into the Northern Territory with sites in Brisbane, Logan, Moreton, Ipswich and even into Alice Springs with our sister church, Desert Life. Hope Centre is part of Australian Christian Churches. OUR VALUES Worship Worship is our highest response to who God is, what He has done and is doing in our lives. Above all, He is worthy of our worship. We value both individual and corporate worship. We encourage believers to develop an expression of daily worship in their life. We also encourage believers to come together each week to offer an extravagant expression of worship to God. Discipleship Discipleship is simply a biblical term for personal growth through relationship with Jesus. As we draw closer to Jesus, we cannot help but become more like Him. Ultimately we are responsible for our personal walk with God but equally we thrive in community, which is why we offer discipleship pathways through many aspects of church including Life Groups, Hope Academy and midweek gatherings. Connection We were created by community (God - Father, Son, Holy Spirit) for community. We thrive in who we are as followers of Christ when we gather together. One of the many great ways to connect with others is through Life Groups. Mission Our aim is to see individuals and communities find hope and wholeness through the transforming power of the Gospel message. Everything we do is an activity that champions HOPE. Holistic Ministry: Serving the whole person (spirit, soul, mind & body) and their community. Opportunity for All: Creating voice and inclusion for all in the community regardless of race, gender, creed or economic status. Partnership: Partnering with communities and their representatives to see them flourish with dignity transformation and empowerment. Economic Health: Fostering sustainability, empowerment, and sound stewardship of finances, gifts, resources and people. Our mission is outworked locally, nationally and globally. Leadership Evident in the 80 year history of our church is a mandate to raise and empower leaders. In a multi-site church, there is room for people to find their expression of service and leadership. Hope Academy is one of our formal avenues for leadership development and Biblical training.
