About Us

The NDCO aims to:

 *  improve coordination of services that facilitate transitions and participation in tertiary education and subsequent employment for people living with disability;

 * collaboration of and with local networks to identify and overcome barriers in transitions and participation in tertiary education and subsequent employment for people living with disability

 * enhance the  knowlege and capability of stakeholders to support transitions and participation in tertiary education and subsequent employment for people living with disability

 * improve the knowldge of people with disability about their rights and entitlements, supports available, educational options and pathways, leading to making educated decisions about education and employment.

The NDCO achieves this through various projects, information expos, networking, development and sharing of resources.  The NDCO works with schools (state, indepenant and catholic), tertiary training providers (TAFE, Uni, Community and Private Training organisations), Apprenticeship Groups, DES and JSA providers, Community program providers, various government organisations and departments.  While not able to provide a case management service for individuals, information can be shared regarding options for services that can improve opportunities in accessing and participating in tertiary education and subsequent employment. 

The NDCO is a National Program and an officer is located in 31 regions across Australia.  The Region 18 NDCO covers the Brisbane, Redcliffe and Ipswich areas.
