Central Queensland Home Assist Secure - Rockhampton

The program aims to remove some of the practical housing related difficulties experienced by older people and people with disabilities who wish to remain living in their own home. CQ Home Assist Secure provides free information and referrals, along with subsidised assistance to eligible clients. Information and referral is available about home maintenance, repairs, minor modifications and home security. Staff can also refer and assist if necessary, with employing tradespeople, contracting experts, or planning future work. Subsidised assistance gives support to people who are unable to obtain alternative assistance with minor home maintenance, repairs, modifications and security which relate to their health, safety and security. ELIGIBILITY To be eligible for free information and referral you must be a home owner, or live in rental housing and be 60 years and over, or of any age with a disability. To receive subsidised assistance for work in your home you must hold a current Commonwealth Government pensioner concession card or be deemed HACC eligible through an ONI assessment, and be unable to make use of alternative forms of assistance such as Veterans Affairs, family or friends. CQ Home Assist Secure does not undertake maintenance or repairs that are considered to be the responsibility of the landlord (lessor) under the Residential Tenancies Act.
