About Us

We are a free legal service, for Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander people, affected by family violence and/ or sexual assault in Queensland.

ways we can help you

  • explain your legal rights and responsibilities
  • outline various options and steps you can take to solve your legal problem/s
  • go to court with you and support you through the process
  • connect you to free counselling and support services. e.g. health, housing, financial advisors etc.
  • offer information sessions, factsheets and resources relevant to you

in the following areas of law

  • Child Protection
  • Domestic and Family Violence
  • Family Law
  • Victims Assistance
  • Witness Assistance Law
  • Victim Support (Sexual Assault)

you may be eligible for our services if

  • you or the child/ren are Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander
  • experiencing or have experienced family violence and/ or sexual assault
  • living in Queensland

It is important to know that support is available. If for some reason we are unable to assist, we will refer you to a support service/s that can. If you, or your family, need legal support or more information, free call our friendly team on 1800 887 700.

  • build and maintain strong relationships
  • present education sessions (legal or non-legal)
  • hold and attend community events
