Lanza Sings Again

“Lanza Sings Again” is the incredible life story and absolute hits of Mario Lanza one of the greatest tenors of our time… Songs like “Be My Love”, “Because Your Mine”, La Donna E Mobile”, Strangers In Paradise”, Drink Drink”, O Sole Mio”, The Loveliest Night Of The Year”, You’ll Never Walk Alone”, and Granada”, are just some of the hits that will be sung in this production.

Star Tenor Roy Best will be leading the show singing all the songs in Lanza’s original keys. Roy has had an incredible rise in the Australian performing arts scene being a finalist in ABC’s Operatunity OZ, recording with ABC Classics, playing principal roles with The Victorian Opera as well as continuing to be a guest artist with the Australian Pops Orchestra. 

Joining Roy will be international Soprano Alison Jones who will play the role of Kathryn Grayson who was Mario Lanza’s preferred soprano. Both Grayson and Lanza starred together in many films. Alison has had a stellar career more so in Europe and the UK. Alison has played leading roles with The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company in the Savoy Theatre in London, an honour rarely bestowed on an Australian Soprano. Since settling back in Australia Alison has played leading roles for The Victorian Opera and The Melbourne Opera Companies.

Chris McKenna will be Narrating the fascinating life story of Mario Lanza who had such an enormous career and incredibly died at the age of 38…all this will be beautifully accompanied on the piano by International Concert Pianist Len Vorster
