parkrun - Kedron

This is a one lap out and back course starting approximately 200m from the intersection of Kedron Brook Greenway and Shaw Rd, heading in the direction of the Kedron Football Club. The course then crosses a small bridge and continues to follow the Kedron Brook Greenway under the Gympie Rd underpass. It then continues along the same path following the Kedron Brook Creek passing Bradshaw Park on the left and under the Thistle St underpass. You continue along the pathway up until to Swinburne Street Park where you will veer to the right and turnaround a clearly marked turnaround point. This will complete 2.45km and the return leg will be back along the same path making up the 5km to the finish line located adjacent to the North Brisbane Rugby Union Club and Fields. This course is rather flat with a few small rises. The Thistle St underpass path does narrow slightly and runners should take caution of other park users. The vast majority of this course is on pedestrian only shared path as there is a separate bike path adjacent. Facilities On Street Parking available on Shaw Rd. Off Street Parking Available near North Brisbane Rugby Union Club. Public Toilets available next to Brisbane Beach Sports Complex and across Shaw Rd in Shaw Park. Getting there by public transportEagle Junction Train Station is approximately a 1.3km walk. Getting there on footThe main access by foot is via Shaw Rd where Kedron Brook Greenway intersects as the start line is approximately 200m along this path in the direction of Samford. Access is available the opposite direction on the same path. Getting there by roadShaw Rd is the major arterial road that leads you directly to the Kedron Brook Greenway path entry located near the North Brisbane Rugby Union Fields.
