About Us

Building Services Authority (BSA) is Queensland's Statutory Authority set up to license builders, trade contractors and building designers; resolve disputes regarding defective building work; operate a statutory insurance scheme to protect home-owners against non-completion, defective work and subsidence; and provide information and advice. BSA provides information and advice about BSA services and activities to consumers and contractors throughout Queensland, by providing information through its statewide contact centre and 8 regional offices, BSA website; media releases and articles; Fact Sheets; seminars in Brisbane and regional centres; and participation in trade and industry shows. BSA's Customer Service Officers are able to provide information ranging from licence checks and details about licence holders, through to information about the Statutory Insurance Scheme and BSA's dispute handling procedures.
